Walt sees things in people they can't see themselves, knows which ones belong here and which ones don't. He watches ghosts that shimmer at the edges of sight, fawning over the island's children.
Aaron is different. Ghosts dissipate from him with a hum, little sparks of energy repelling like-charges.
Aaron catches him mapping out his mental portrait, abstract shapes painted in sharp primary colors. "I'm not-" He can't say it, doesn't even know what it is.
"Special?"
Aaron runs a hand through sandy blond hair. "Not like I'm supposed to be. Not like she sees me."
Walt is his attracting opposite force, one light, one dark. "Not yet."
