[Sigmund has seen a lot of unusual swords, but never one that could heal wounds. If it wasn't Hanatarou, he might think that he's about to get stabbed. Of course, it is still a sword against his unarmored ribcage, so he holds himself quite still. As promised, the pain does start going away.]

Y-you're welcome! U-um, Hisagomaru takes a certain amount of time depending on the w-wound... But it doesn't work all the time so the fact that it is is miraculous in itself!

[Hanatarou smiled up at Sigmund, doing his best to be reassuring.]

A certain amount of time...? I hit the wall hard.

[He puts out one hand to try and steady himself, the other reaching up to check his lip again. He's not about to admit it, but the smile helps. There are so many people here so quick to smile at him, for nothing.]

This is the first time I've seen a sword take wounds instead of give them.

[Smiling as he explained, Hanatarou nodded, and said:]

A-ah! Actually, Hisagomaru is kind of a s-special sword- See?

[He points to a niche in the sword, which is glowing to a point not for from the bottom of the niche.]

It's like a gauge, it heals wounds until it reaches the top. Then it releases a blast equivalent to the damage it has healed, but after that, it becomes useless, so I a-actually don't carry it around in Soul Society, I j-just use my hands and my medical tools to heal there...

[That... well, it doesn't make perfect sense, as Sigmund has no idea how such an enchantment(?) would work, but he thinks he understands the very basic idea of it. Except for one thing.]

... How do you time the blast?

[His ribs are starting to feel much better, which is both surprising and refreshing, since healing magic never did work the way it was supposed to on this body.]
