Why don't we make more of an effort to keep in touch with relatives?

Because everyone seems so busy nowadays, and is more concerned about their own life than anyone elses :o(

I think you're right. We have to or try to cram so much more into the same amount of time now so something has to give & I suppose contact with rellies that aren't close is one. I was embarassed & cross with myself that my aunt & uncle moved to a place about 30 mins from me & I have never gone to see them. They moved nearly 8 years ago! Maybe it's that old familiarity thing & I just expect them to always be there.

My parents over this last ear have gone genealogy mad!

I love meeting relatives - but find that others don't value those connections as much as I do. I am quite pleased that as my Neice Sandy has added me to the student connection site facebook I am now linked to my cousin's children on there - who are both at Uni - it is nice to see their pics even if we don't chat much! at least it feels like a connection.

Are you free to come to the The Barge at Woolstone next week - 5th April? Feels like ages since I saw you and we need a catch up!

I think relatives are one of those things we take for granted. They have been part of your life for so long, if only marginally, that you think they will always be there.

Can't make it toThe barge - I'll be in Thailand!! It IS ages since I saw you. I did see you post about the quiz night though so keep me in mind for the next one.
