Teena wandered the more high-traffic areas of Patchwork Earth, looking around idly. She knew she hadn't been around for a while. Lack of internet access due to moving would do that to a person. Shinji was stuffing a shoulder bag full of parcels from the auto-maker on the street corner when he saw a familiar face. His eyes went wide for a moment and he bolted down the street.

Teena rolled her eyes and vanished, reappearing in front of him.

"Oh, settle down. Yes, I know you and Lain ditched on the exodus stuff, no, I'm not going to turn you in. For pity's sake. But if you still want to run, fine, run."

Teena shrugged. "I would presume that if they get caught, they have to go through with the exodus. And Shinji has a pretty sucky future waiting for him in his original dimension. Not to mention, y'know, being in love with Lain, who doesn't exist where he's from."
