FYI Atlantans

My milk n egg guy has MEAT. He's going to be bringing one type/cut a week for the foreseeable future. You don't order it, just show up at one of his delivery locations.

His website is Carlton Farms, and it lists the delivery locations... I highly suggest signing up for the email list ( Read more... )

Just a note on Carlton Farms -- their website is unsecured and if you hit the right button, you can access the master list of all names, addresses, phone numbers, and any other information they put in their spreadsheet. My parents want to order from them, but weren't willing to have their personal info out there in public like that. My dad even called to try to talk to them about their site, but they go through some "Christian" webhost that doesn't know it's ass from its elbow.

True, I have noticed that... I guess I don't particularly care if someone finds my email address, it's out there anyway. Since he doesn't actually seem to use the information, you could probably put in absolutely anything in those fields, as it. Or a fake name, too, for that matter.

I worry more about things like Sam throwing away his old debit card, uncut, at the QT. Not that he's done that, or anything.

If you don't use the form, how do you get your info to him? I'll pass that along to my folks, who definitely want eggs, milk, cheese and meat!

Well, I do, because I'm just jaded about this stuff, but, anecdotally -

for instance, today, I was talking to three other people in line. None of them had placed an order online. He brings extra milk & eggs (except for the realllly hot times in the summer, when he's been short on milk, period), and a lot of the people get the same thing, every time - so it wouldn't be hard to get from his 'extras' the first time and then have a standing order for milk & eggs. The cheese, honey, & meat is all first-come, first-serve, no order... which is why I got the last two pounds of ground beef he had with him today. Apparently Marietta is more carnivorous than Woodstock or Alpharetta.
