Last time? They do these things sooner than 10 years? That's a bit excessive.

Yeah, they do every five years. Actually, there *used* to be a really good reason for it, but that reason ended with the class after us...

See, we have this tradition called Cat/Rat - the seniors are the "Cats" and the seventh graders are the "Rats." Well, it works out so that your five-year reunion year is your rat's senior year, and the seniors are invited to participate in Alumnae Weekend activities. So that's kind of cool. But then they added a sixth grade class in fall of 1998, so the class of 1999 and above, the Cats were paired with sixth grade Rats, and the whole scheme fell apart a bit.

bafleyanne was my best friend Rhiannon's Cat. :) My younger!SIL was my Rat. It's kind of cool.

Here's a little blurb

I really don't like that they started doing it that way to be honest. Aside from the reunion thing, making the Rats a year younger makes it even *less* likely that you will have anything at all in common with them.

Have I ever asked who your Cat was? I had nothing at all in common with mine, and when I saw her at her 5 year reunion, she didn't even recognize me, so that was awesome.

It was Kim Mobley... she came back to a chapel talk a few years after y'all graduated and she recognized me then, but I wonder if she would now.

And, yeah, I don't like the changes to Cat/Rat at all... I feel lucky to have gotten out right before that.

Our reunion coordinators forgot the attachment too, and then I got an email titled "Opps!!!" with the attachment included. Needless to say the girls organizing our reunion are not the brightest.

Last time, we had it at the aquarium, so that was neat. This time they're thinking of having it at some bar or something? I don't know.

Heeee.

We had ours at someone's house last time - well, their parents' house. KNowing our luck, it'll be at Rock City - all of our senior stuff was there because Meg Chapin was in our class and her parents own it.
