Fireflight comes home.

"Easy...." Dreadnought frowned and rumbled as he watched the rest of the Arielbots swarm their sister as Sunhalo helped her through the door. "Don't slaggin' run her over, you dumb punks."

Air Raid bopped Slingshot. "Yeah, what he said!"

Dreadnought facepalmed as snickers swept through the mob of youngbots around him, then reached down and slapped Rainbird in the head.

"Uh...." She looked up at him, blinking. "What was that for? I didn't even do anything this time!"

"Give it a few clicks." He growled at her, and then shot Kup a look as the old timer snerked at him.

"She needs to rest," Sunhalo was saying in his quiet way as he put a protective arm around Fireflight, who was grinning and blinking dazedly. "Can't you feel it over your bond?"

"I can," said Silverbolt, equally quiet. "And he's right. Come on, people. Let her get to the repair bay."

Skydive turned her head and frowned at him, then reached out and gently touched her red-gold sister. "Want me to give you a hand?"

Fireflight looked confused. "If you want to. But Sunhalo's kind of already doing it, so I don't know how you'd...."

"That's alright," said the brown femme quickly. "Sunhalo can help you. It's all good."

"Okay." Fireflight had that expression that said that she was sure she'd missed something, but then it turned to a smile as her black and red sister gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Hi, Air Raid."

"Hey." The brashest of the Arielbots smiled back, then stepped away. "Come on. You better lay down."

Sunhalo gently assisted the dreamy sister to one of the tables in the repair bay, then smiled at her and left the room to go see what his creator was doing. Dreadnought watched him go, then rumbled as he watched the Arielbots cluster around their sister for a few more moments before they all headed toward their various posts.

"Hey." He ducked and walked inside to look down at her. "How you feeling?"

"Tired." She grinned back at him, and he wondered as he noticed a difference in that grin. "But it's good to be home."

"You didn't try to stay with Ratchet this time." His tone made the words a gruffly gentle question.

Fireflight sighed, her sweet face going a little pensive. "He loves First Aid. And I'm not smart enough for him anyway."

"You're plenty smart, kid." Dreadnought scowled a bit.

"And I'm not right for you either."

He stopped short, trying to think of what to say about that.

"It's okay." She smiled up at him. "You're the big mean 'Con. You don't need a femme anyway."

-Don't mean I don't want one... just... yeah, you're too young,- he thought moodily, not letting anything show on his face but his quizzical look turning into a slight smile of his own. "Don't really wanna be Prime's son-in-law."

"That too." She chuckled, then looked toward the door with a thoughtful and wistful look in her optics.

"Sunhalo's a good kid." He guessed at her thoughts, then added, "I saw how you were looking at him."

Fireflight blinked as he answered her question before she could ask it, then looked toward the door again. "What's he like?"

"Quiet. Kind. Steady. He's no 'Con."

He was also coming down the hall. Dreadnought fell silent and watched as the red rookie Seeker peeked into the room, then grinned just slightly and got to his feet as the youngster slipped inside. "I gotta go check on the old man. Keep an eye on her till First Aid gets back, 'Halo."

"Yes, sir." The young Autobot smiled his quiet smile and settled on a chair as Fireflight snuggled down and shuttered her optics.

Dreadnought watched for a couple clicks, then turned and went to see Jazz, telling Two to stop using Slingshot for a chew toy as he went.
