Alex was letting Effy have the run of his bed for the moment because he was content to sit near his window and smoke. He didn't need to give the kitty second hand smoke inhalation. See how nice he was?
When he looked over and noticed the lack of fur and the lack of four legs, he just smirked and waited for her to realize so he could start laughing.
"I wouldn't have wanted you to stay just to keep me company," Alex said, shaking his head. "I knew I had to stay since things are tricky over there now but there's no need for you to be bored too."
"Thought you'd have more faith in your entertainment abilities. Not so boring when there's someone whose conversational peak is purring to demand food." Being here wouldn't have stopped them going to the mainland or something. Better than sitting around staring at the walls.
"I wasn't the best of company this week," Alex said, shrugging. "Why would I want someone to sit around with me, being bored and dealing with me when I was more pissy than usual? I wasn't up to entertainment."
"Would you quit acting like you need to apologize for being a fucking cat?" Alex asked, rolling his eyes. "Chill. It wasn't a big deal even if you didn't talk to me and just ate tuna. I didn't mind."
Effy silently tucked her legs up under his sweater and hugged her arms around them. Not all that good at relying on other people, or being looked after, so yeah, maybe she was a little weird.
"Right," she said eventually. "Well. Thanks anyway." Not starving as a cat was something she kind of liked. Should probably thank him for that, and prove she wasn't entirely ungrateful.
"Happen here?" Alex shook his head a few times. "Not a damn thing. I think there were many five people here total so it was quiet. I watched a lot of movies and played some games and read some books. Totally thrilling."
"I didn't miss you because you were here with me most of the time but I did miss your human characteristics," Alex corrected, leaning over to try and catch a kiss from her. "Welcome back, Effy. I miss this version of you."
Effy'd missed this version of herself too. At the time she hadn't really given it much thought, but when he presented her with the opportunity to remind herself... it had been missed.
Fingers, actually, were one of the best to have back. So she lifted her hands to feel a little of his skin under her fingertips as he kissed her.
Effy watched his fingers move for a moment before glancing back up with a slight grin. "Minute ago you didn't want to give me clothes. Changed your mind?"
"I didn't know how good you'd look in one of my sweatshirts," he explained, giving the sleeve another tug before reaching inside and grabbing a hold of her fingers. "I think I can take this look over naked. It's a struggle but I'm doing okay with it."
"So noble of you," she joked. It didn't look like he was having anything like trouble.
"Wouldn't be anything to do with knowing I'm wearing nothing underneath?" He was a guy, and for whatever reason, that seemed to appeal to most of them.
"And what if it did have something to do with that?" Alex wondered, raising an eyebrow. "It's not like you don't like lounging around half naked in front of me."
When he looked over and noticed the lack of fur and the lack of four legs, he just smirked and waited for her to realize so he could start laughing.

"Sure I was a delight. Only sort of remember it," she admitted. "Details are a little... fuzzy."

"Anything actually happen?"

"Guess you didn't miss me me at all then," Effy figured with a twitch of a smirk "I'll try not to cry myself to sleep over it."
[[Annnd I should go sleep at this point. G'night!]
