Summary: When she closed her eyes, Alex could still feel Olivia’s body pressed against hers, feel the chill of the sheets as Olivia moved, silencing the alarm, feel the last kiss and the desperate hug and the way Olivia had squeezed her hand before they’d walked into the courtroom to hear the verdict. There had been a restless, desperate hope in their movements. For a moment, they’d believed she could go home.
