A couple years ago, it was hot as hell and in the middle of a summer night that as usual, I couldn't sleep in. It was probably my first full summer in Australia (had arrived part way through the first one), and I was still getting used to things here. I grew up in Alaska, so creepy, crawly icky things were pretty rare for us beyond the odd daddy-long leg. That said, I still hated the freaking things. Was not and am not fond of any bugs. Anyways, it's some god awful hour of the morning and I'm typing away on some story or the other, headphones firmly plugged in when I see this thing scurry across my mattress that I was sitting on. Spiders give me the jibblies. Nothing should be allowed to have that many legs.

okay, is the spider really gone?? I don't like them either so I can relate to her fear. This was great and we got bed-snuggles too, love it, but poor Olivia, what temptation...
