He´s practically screaming for help, isn´t he? And they just won´t listen. Well, I´m not going to fill all my reviews with complaints about those "adults"... would seem like I´m biased...:)

Interesting, to see Snape trying to conjure a Patronus with happy memories, all of which can be tainted if he thinks about them hard enough. I suppose that memories of Lily, painful as they seem, will have to come into play eventually, since his Patronus looks like her. How ironic; it´s like Harry thinking of his parents to conjure a Patronus when he actually knows that they were killed when he was a baby. Those people´s happy memories manage to inspire an enormous sense of loss unless they manage to focus just in the moment and forget all the immediate implications. But focus is essential to cast any spell, I guess.

No doubt about it, there are a lot of misunderstandings going on in this story.

Those people´s happy memories manage to inspire an enormous sense of loss unless they manage to focus just in the moment and forget all the immediate implications. But focus is essential to cast any spell, I guess.

With what we saw of Snape in canon, it was hard to imagine him with any completely untainted happy memories. But he did seem to be capable of a lot of focus.

Thanks for reviewing!

I'm glad Dumbledore can be this patient and forgiving. There's no doubt that the only one standing between Severus and a countercurse for Sectusempra is Severus himself and his lack of confidence. Then again, it can't be easy for a child who had to live through so many injustice to be brightly confident in his ability- then again, is only sad that such a young kid thinks of himself as irremediably evil. But, being capable of seeing that, is what I think that makes him the exact opposite.

Thanks for sharing, it was a great chapter.

Good insight on Snape. He's complicated, isn't he? That's why he's fun to write about. Glad you enjoyed the chapter; thanks for reviewing.
