I'm getting to the point where I am ready to take religion on... head on. It is becoming increasingly obvious that the only people who really fall for it are the ones that don't have any sense to begin with. How the hell do you negotiate all of these hypocrisies? and i second. it seems [and i was attempted to be raised a catholic] quotes of convenience and frequent belittling have given (my impression of) religion a pretty bad rep... to this day one i'm yet to overcome. i think Tom Hanks in 'Angels and Demons' put it best when he said "Faith is a gift that I have yet to receive."
Until then, I try to live by the Desiderata:
"With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."

I love that!

Fortunately, I maintain my faith, as I believe G-d has nothing to do with the corruption of religion and I maintain my tradition because I feel it pay tribute to my family & ancestors. I don't know that I will ever get over this, but I found what works for me. :)

What doesn't work for me is missing you (both of you)! Come up to NYC.
