So are you gonna start from the beginning with BSG or just jump right into season 3?
The mini-series is a great intro to the show but if you watched the last episode of season two onwards you could probably pick up all the new plot threads okay.
The place I would download it from has all the seasons, so I'll probably start from the beggining, just so I don't confused if anyone mentions events that happened previously, and so I know as much character background as possible incase I start to write in the fandom. Plus, I have little to do at Uni in between lectures and essay writing (you can't do it all the time after all), and I can only hang around with my friends for so long before I need alone time :D
OMG you should so watch BSG. Because I'm gonna give it another try (I started to watch it but then got distracted by my other fandom, Bones)... I just borrowed the s1 DVDs from my bff. =)
A lot of fans have tried to come up with reasons as to why Lizzie's a recurring char for S4. The most logical reason is that Amanda Tapping (who will be 'guest starring' in 14 episodes in s4) needs to finish up her contract... so Lizzie's just gonna be in the background for now until Tapping's done her contract! *is optimistic*
I'm going to start downloading BSG tomorrow as I'm going out tonight but don't have lectures tomorrow until 1pm, so I should get a decent number of episodes downloaded before I have to go out.
I haven't been watching Bones, again, its one of those things that I really should watch, but I've never really got round to doing.
I really hope your theory about Weir is the correct one. But it makes me wonder, did Amanda Tapping have a different contract to the rest of the SG1 cast? If so why, and if not, what are they doing instead of going into Atlantis. Sorry, thats probably one of those questions which no-one is ever going to have the answer to :D

i have NO idea... i have to start watching sg-1 (i borrowed the first two seasons from my friend and reading break is coming up so YESSSSS MAJOR DVD WATCH-AGE)!!
Oh, don't worry about the AT casting thing, I already knew about that (although I'm not totally liking the idea to be honest).
Have fun with the DVD-fest. Another of my friends got into stargate by Atlantis, I ended up buying her the season 1 box set for her birthday, just so she could understand who Jack O'Neil and co are whenever they pop up on screen.
