Written for shineeworld , prompt #8: disaster. Because the prompt was clearly made for Onew.
When you first met him, he introduced himself and stuttered over his own name, as if he’d forgotten it for a second. Then he cracked a really lame joke about bread hitting walls. You stared at him, thinking he couldn’t possibly be serious, and there was a short pause until you realized he’d been waiting for you to laugh.
Then you’d found out that he was going to be in your group, that he was going to be the leader. You couldn’t believe he was two years older than you.
You watched him trip over his own feet, walk into doors, make stupid puns, space out during important conversations, and you were convinced he had to be faking it. There was no way anyone could act like that without it being completely intentional.
Except now you know he isn’t, because he still makes stupid faces when he thinks no one is looking. Because he’s a terrible liar, a terrible actor.
He’s probably the clumsiest, weirdest, lamest, most awkward person you know, but he’s so kind and earnest and well-meaning and, well, that smile-it’s hard to dislike him.
And, you hate to admit it, but you’re a little bit charmed.
