Yeah, I'm hoping that Misty breaks free of it with some agency.
And it's true that the relationships in H4H don't yet resemble those in BoP, but the core superheroic mission statement in H4H is just so right. "From her control room, Knight gets the word out to the right people at the right time, so they can do the right thing." vs BoP's current: "When the citizens are in trouble, they call the heroes. When the heroes are in trouble, they call the... Birds of Prey!"
BoP's is all reactive, superheroes being attacked by supervillains and getting themselves out of trouble, whereas Heroes for Hire is about proactively going after the bad guys. I'm so tired of all this reactive self-centred superhero drama, that H4H is like a breath of fresh air, where heroes are going after bad guys trying to help people
( ... )
Aside from maybe the first bit of Platinum Flats, pretty sure it's been about that since, what? The thing with Katarina Armstrong?
"the Joker and Lex are the best bad guys because their hatred of Bats and Supes is so personal, where's the Wonder rogue like that"
Haha, is it wrong that my first reaction to that is to nitpick that the Joker doesn't hate Batman, and Lex Luthor is sometimes blatantly depicted as having a sort of jealous love-hate thing with Superman?
It's one thing for the hero to have a personal history with a villain, and that can make for great drama and angst, but if that's all there ever is? DC seems to forget you can have that without the villains perpetually going after the heroes instead of the other way around.

What I like is how blatant it is with this image.
