I remember talking with Bluefall about RENT as DCU.

Roger = Bruce, the stoic loners who closed themselves up to feeling until ...
Mimi = Selina, came along, and lit their candle
Mark = Ollie, the guy who never wanted to give in to The Man (except he totally did), and broke up with
Maureen = Dinah, the sexy drama queen who's currently dating
Joanne = Babs, the 'lovable droll geek', 'anal-retentive', 'control freak' lawyer.

There's also Angel, Collins and Benny, but I can't think of anyone for them.

Okay, clearly, I really need to re-watch RENT so that I can get your references to it. (I saw the movie once a few years back, but I never remember anything until I see it a few times.)

I saw it live a week ago (and saw The Importance of Being Ernest last night because I'm a spoiled brat :D), and I love RENT so much. Get the Live On Broadway if you can afford it, the movie has a really drastic shift from "queer-people-living-with-death" to "The-Epic-Love-Between-Mimi-And-Roger", but they're both amazing.
