Flight and boarding

I boarded Kappa for 6 days over the holidays. The place I board her has cages of a good size (around 36"x36"x40"), they place the cages of similar species near each other (and siblings right next to each other, with 1-2" space between cages) so they can interact, and they let each bird out onto a large playstand for an hour or two every day for ( Read more... )

i wouldn't clip her for just 4 days. that's 4 kinda lame days with no out of cage time vs several weeks of lame i cant fly days. i think in the long run keeping her flighted is the better option. get her some really tough toys to play with in the meantime!

I agree with captain_risu: I would not clip my birds for 4 days of boarding. In fact, I've been in exactly this situation: when I do board my birds they generally don't get any out time because they are flighted brats who will land on the other birds' cages. I feel okay about this because the cage they're in is large (an EFC or equivalent) and they get lots of stimulation from watching and chatting with the other birds ( ... )
