Wow that is scary - I'm not sure what that was. Choking on food? It wasn't a seizure, was it? I have heard they vocalize like people and other critters when they have a seizure. This is sort of going overboard but if it was a seizure related to something like insulinoma, that would explain why the ferrelax helped (sugar?)
I have also had ferrets do weird things like cough and choke or make weird noises and I have also found ferretone and ferretlax helps. I have used this trick when they are acting like they are going to throw up.
That is so frightening; my heart goes out to you because wow I have been there before. I have also had to ask God to help my babies whenever they are sick and I have tried everything I know and I feel helpless.
Watch her for any furthur odd activities and if she does it again I'd bring her to her vet for bloodwork just to make sure it's not something serious.
I don't THINK it was a seizure. I mean she seemed conscious to me. The couple seconds in between the sneeze/scream she just looked like she didn't feel good. But now all the stuff you say, maybe that's what is was. I will definitely take her to the vet if it happens again.
