Go potty.

Oct 02, 2010 20:15

I have been trying to teach Ripley to say "go potty" before he poops since day one. And he does tend to say something before he poops. It's just never "go potty." Instead, he says things like,

"Hey, look!"
"You want some water?"
"I love you!"

I'm apparently just a failure at potty training. :(

Don't feel bad :) Gregory even worst than that. He does his thing all over places.. even on my head, cloths, shoes, and when I yelled at him for doing it everywhere, he yells back louder.... XDD. So, I gave up and just shoo him into his cage.. XDD

Editing:

Oh. and if Gregory ever say "I love you" or "Mommy" I will be passing out and even drop dead right on the SPOT~~~~~~

Aww, well, he's trying! I never tried to teach my Sennie to talk, but she picked up stuff I said to her, like, "Did you make poopies?" which cracks me up.

FWIW, I watched my Sennie and realized I could tell when she was getting ready to poop, because her tail would go up and she'd twitch her butt a little, so I started moving her to where I wanted her to poop, and eventually she got in the habit of going there herself. Every so often she'll have an accident on me, but that's pretty rare.

I only just got one of mine to poop on command.

"Go poop?"
"... *LIGHTBULB*"
"Yes! Go poop?"
"HRRHNNGH."
"... go poooop?"
"HRRNNNGGHHHH."
"GO POOP MAN YOU CAN DO IT!!"

And then the gold is dropped and there is joy all around. HE STRAINS TO PLEASE ME.

... LITERALLY.

"Hey look" made me lol. Potty training is a challenge, but not impossible. My lovebird has been (more or less) trained to fly back to his cage to go...with about an 80% accuracy rate.
