I have a new pair of troublemakers (who are currently enjoying week four of a quiet quarantine with my parents). My blue-masked lovebird is very lonely, and while I worry that bringing home two companions will make him a third wheel, I do think that a more flock-ish environment will really benefit him. He is trying really hard to find companionship beyond just myself, so someone to chatter with throughout the day at least will be a nice thing for him.
The new balls of mischief are about a year old. It's obvious that they're both handfed, but they haven't had personal attention. Handling them earned me a few nips, though no real bites. I think that, once I can move them in and put them in a more welcoming environment, they'll do very well. They're both a little overwhelmed, and often revert to splayed-leg wing-out clumsy baby position (its so cute ._.).
Anyway, what I need is help with naming one of them! Companion #1 is an accidental hybrid (the parents, I've been assured, have since been separated) of a masked and a peachface lovebird. The breeder had never heard of such a thing before (which was why she assumed it wouldn't happen), and frankly neither have I, so everything about him's a mystery. He has been dubbed 'Zorro', because he has a cute little bandit mask and escaped from his cage as I was paying for him.
The second is a fischers lovebird. He is nameless! I haven't come up with anything, though I think an explorer of some sort would be good, because he's very inquisitive. I have to call him something! Suggestions are win!
Both of them have very gorgeous coloring. I managed to snap a few good photos, and while the one with the flash is the most true-to-life, I really didn't want to spam-flash them when they were already disoriented from being brought home.
After I took these I realized I have no good pics of my blue masked or my tiel, so perhaps I shall rectify this situation soon :3
^Does this not look like they're plotting all sorts of mischief!?
