Sad news. I thought Caroline John was under-rated and under-used by the season seven production team. She was an important part of my second favourite season (mere millimetres away from being my absolute favourite), and perhaps the most stylistically consistent and consistently good season of Doctor Who ever, not excluding the post-2005 seasons.

Thanks for this post - personal and moving. Would you consider sending it to DWM as a letter? I think it would have a good chance of ending up as letter of the month.

Thank you - I'll think about redrafting it as a letter. Caroline John was definitely underused, but always judged her performance correctly, and enjoyed a good chemistry with Nicholas Courtney, or so it seemed to me.

I don't think it will needs any redrafting, just an opening (not even an end I think, what you have is perfect _ just follow up with (yours sincerely etc.)

I redrafted it anyway, because I didn't think there was enough of Ms John. Now e-mailed to the people at Panini Towers.
