I admit I'm undecided, and probably will be until 2018 and a chance to actually see the new Doctor. Not sure if life depends on change and renewal or if this old programme of mine is wearing a bit thin...

I find any anxiety comes less from Whittaker's casting, but from the almost-unknown quantity that is Chris Chibnall's understanding of the series.

Well, he's given us two plagiarisms of classic series stories (admittedly one was in the brief), a vulgar comedy (unfunny, IMHO), an RTD era homage and a teenage rant about Pip 'n' Jane. Plus (shudder) Torchwood. So it's not quite unknown, but I'm not sure how encouraging it is.
