Everywhere I Go, I Have A Huge Cult Following Me

Envious of all the attention M Night Shyamalan's been getting recently, Kevin Smith tries to snatch his title of Most Insecure Director In The World back. To no avail, I fear, unless his next movie features Silent Bob being cruxified.

Is it me, or are all the celebrities trying to start their own personality cults now? Shyamalan's followers are Read more... )

Oh Jeeeesus

Brangelina scares me. But what's MORE scary is the prospect of Jolie in a MCHAEL WINTERBOTTOM FILM.

You're right, just DON'T DO IT. Oh Goooood.

FELICITY HUFFMAN WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD. YOU'LL SEE. Her and Angelina will have a bitch fight. Angelina may have the bigger breasts, but as Felicity proved in Transamerica, she has BALLS.

Hahahaha! Yup, Felicity's a fighter. She could bitch-slap Angelina with 'Andrew', the prosthetic penis!

I've always said it's the annoying followers and worshippers I have issues with.

I usually have the same response: "consider me completely UNDERwhelmed." that, or, "do us all a favor and get a life, will you?"

grrrrr.

You know, I used to have this hard-and-fast rule that criticising people's fans was below the belt - it's the sort of thing Tony Rayns does when he realises he doesn't have a proper argument. But sweet Jesus, if you're devoting your life to defending a Hollywood couple who you'll never ever meet, a little mocking can be the kindest thing to do. Mock them for a while, before stepping up to active slapping.

Brangelina - which sounds an awful lot like a breakfest cereal for the constipated - deserve the mocking, and the slaps, and more.

At first, I was glad they were bringing attention to Africa. Now that I'm doing some work there, I see that they've reduced to whole frikking continent to a backdrop for their boring pr progress.

ugh.

I was really thinking about the fans, actually. I've always had a non-fan-mocking policy; the celebrities are absolutely fair game, but I've always thought it was a bit elitist to mock fans.

That was before the recent developments in the Shyamalan and All-Bran (thanks for that thought!) camps. I mean, how can you read stuff like this without wanting to do verbal harm to whoever was responsible?
