"Thank God, I Thought It Was Some Kind Of Gay Thing."

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a very funny film, but it's extremely strange. Abraham Lincoln comes back from the dead and Val Kilmer gives a pitch-perfect performance...

I sort of want to see this, but it's been getting dodgy reviews....is it worth it?

Yes, definitely. The romance isn't so hot, but that's about ten minutes in the middle of one hundred minutes of total comedy perfection.

Yes, I agree absolutely, and I nearly died in the cinema with that line...

(see the film to get it :/)

It was the "eight per cent chance" that did it for me. I laughed so hard I doubled over.

Yeah, I think that probably was my favorite bit as well.

Still not sure just how much I liked this, but it definitely had its funny moments. The dialogue was far too self-aware and scripted for my tastes, but I think if I saw it again I'd like it more. Anyway, Kilmer and Downey Jr. were both very good, and there were some really wacky, surreal moments (like the Abe Lincoln cameo you mention) that helped keep it interesting.

I thought it was killingly funny, largely because of its obvious movie-movieness. It would have been hideous if it had a stiffer lead actor, but Robert Downey's just crazy enough to make it all sound off-the-cuff. I've never knowingly seen a Shane Black movie before - aversion to the whole 80s action movie thing, dont'cha know - so could you give me a tip on where to go next?

I think that's why I'll like it more upon a second viewing - I didn't realize it was going to have such "obvious movie-movieness", so I was expecting a more realistic storyline with comedic touches. Also, the audience was terrible and I missed a lot of precious dialog.

As for Shane Black, I'd recommend "The Long Kiss Goodnight" over the rest. It doesn't have the humor of the others, but I still enjoyed it for the most part. Refreshing to see Geena Davis as a blonde, butt-kicking killer before such characters became run-of-the-mill.

The first 2 "Lethal Weapons" aren't bad, but because they've been ripped-off so often you might find them cliche and boring. (They also contain Mel Gibson.) STAY AWAY from "Last Action Hero". From what I recall, "The Last Boy Scout" wasn't anything special, either.

KK,BB is easily his best work.

I thought Long Kiss Goodnight was Renny Harlin.
