Omg how lovely!
Your Draco and Hermione scenes are always so delightful! Out of everyone, it stands to reason that Draco would be the one to read Hermione best. He's the only character smart enough to do it, and you write that so so well!

ALSO OMG AT YOU WORKING ON SOMETHING, THE OBSESSED SHIPPER IN ME CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE!

‘Then why did no one think that about you and Weasley?’

And there it is, in a canon-supported nutshell.

Very well done!

Personally I wonder about Draco being the one to make this observation (he always struck me as way too wrapped up in his own issues to be paying this much attention to anyone else) but I agree with the sentiment.

Thrilled to see you working on new stuff, regardless.

I love how, even years later, people can come out with new perspectives, different angles, on the HP books. Like this:

‘Then why did no one think that about you and Weasley?’

As avidbeader said, 'there it is', ladies and gentlemen.

I don't know why Draco thinks it's a 'disaster', though?

‘Yes, I know,’ she says, shortly. ‘We were always together. I’d also remind you that we’re best friends.’

He smiles sadly at her, huffing out a laugh. ‘Then why did no one think that about you and Weasley?

Well, there you have it. And JKR wondered why so many people thought this way? *facepalm*
