We were never "allowed" to have Macs, 'cause my dad was a Windows lover, (he did win a lot of Windows related career awards, I gotta admit), he"d practically puff up and stomp around, all "we run a Windows shop around here.

Two months after he died, Hoot and I got Macbook Pros with everything and the way I looked at computers totally spun. There's some guilt, but I never, ever have that ' oh shit, what's it gonna do/lose/not do this time?'

Congratulations, have fun.

I have never understood the Macs v pc thing. Most of my friends who work with computers focus their ire more on Microsoft as an operating system than anything. If I've heard one rant about how Linux is superior, I've heard them all. *g*

Most of my friends have Macs and that seems to be the big thing - there is never the terrible fear about what is going to break/be lost.

I am loving it so far. *g*

You don't really know what you were missing until you get a Mac, or any other Apple product. Rest in peace Steve...

I figured I needed to capitulate.

I've been circling the idea of a new computer for at least two years and since everyone I know has a Mac...

It was funny, buying it. I was at the Apple store and they kept being like, 'If it's your first Mac, do you need one on one to show you' and I was all, 'Um. Since everyone I know has one and I have used them before and I am not a total idiot - I think I'll be okay.' *g*
