There has been a widespread outbreak of grumbling and tutting today in London, along with a large number of people going home instead of to work, with a certain amount of guilty pleasure.
Sorry, bad guys. We've been bombed before, and we just adjust our day to account for it. This is London calling.
From the Guardian's rolling blog.

I had heard from everyone else, but not her, so I was stressing out.
But I just talked to her, and apparently, Matthew was in the tube at the time, so she was trying to get in touch with him and then they were trying to find out if Lu was okay, etc. Just a really long day for them, but they're all fine.
I'm so so relieved.
But.
That's my city, man.

I'm sad for the people lost, and for the ones are left to morn them.
But I'm also fiercely proud of how we all come together in times like this; at how we let our battle scars make us stronger and how, instead of cowering in the face of terrorists, we put our backs up against each other and remember that we are all in this together.
Then the government comes in and fucks it all up and we realize why so many people in the world want to blow us up in the first place.
It's sad that it takes something like this to make us find our humanity. And how horribly ironic that mindless attacks on innocent people seems to be the only thing that brings out the best in us.
And we call animals "lesser beings"...
