It’s the middle of the night and Seungri doesn’t know why he’s awake. Maybe it’s the light, though as he lies under the covers, he can’t figure out where it’s coming from. He shifts, pushing the duvet back and that’s when he realizes that it’s coming from him. He’s the source of the light.

He sits up, legs still under the blankets. He holds up a hand, it’s sparkling in the darkness. He moves his fingers, the light dances across them. He pushes the blankets off and his thighs, his legs feet, they all sparkle.

After a moment he shifts, sliding off the bed. He’s glad he’s alone. His parents are away. He doesn’t know how to explain this to them. He walks through the house before finally ending up in the bathroom. He doesn’t need a light.

The glow that comes from his skin is a soft, pale blue. The more he looks at it, the more he thinks that he likes it. He touches his face, his nose, his mouth. He parts his lips, the inside of his mouth doesn’t glow nor does his tongue, but his lips do.

He yawns, wondering how he’s going to get back to sleep. What he’ll tell his coworkers when he shows up at work, glowing and sparkling.

He returns to his bedroom, shutting the door. He crawls under the covers, shutting his eyes. He dreams of auroras and wormholes, of a glittering space he knows cannot exist. He is exhausted when he wakes up in the morning.

It’s six, still dark outside. For a moment he doesn’t move, trying to remember his dreams. He’s distracted, though, by the memory of his midnight trip the bathroom. He holds up his hand, but it’s just a hand. It doesn’t glow or sparkle.

He crawls out of bed, stumbles sleepily to the bathroom. He is himself, nothing about him glows any longer. He doesn’t know why, but he feels empty, as though something’s missing. He pushes it away. It must’ve been a dream.
