Jacob leaped over the ever increasing pile of clothes and made it to the door in three long strides. He pushed the door open with a loud bang and was running across the lawn before it had closed again.
He bent down under the window while Bella grabbed her purse from the passenger seat, and as soon as she turned he popped up so she wouldn't hit him with the door.
He grabbed her purse and began swinging it around, always just out of her reach.
"I should have known you'd do that. Here I was thinking you were a normal person and couldn't get up this early, so 10 was even a stretch for you." He yawned, as if proving his point. "I just got up."

At about 9:40, she pulled up in front of the Black house and cut the engine. She didn't want to wake up Billy.

Bella inadvertantly threw her purse into the back of the truck, startled by Jake's sudden appearance.
She glared at him.
"You scared the crap out of me!" Calming down her breathing, she started to open the door.
"I figured you'd ignore me and be at the border, so I came early."
