DO-IT-YOURSELF DEATH LESSONS:
The book, Final Exit, is a manual for committing suicide or helping someone else do to do so. It sold out its first printing of 41,000 copies and will top next week's list of how-to and advice bestsellers in the New York Times. ......o___O That's horrifying. You'd think it wouldn't be allowed to sell because in a way it "promotes" death...

And why would he write the book? I don't know, because HES *obviously* never committed suicide successfully before XD;;

Maybe secretly he just wanted to be famous for something scandalous ~__~ Him: "What HASNT there been a book written on that I could accomplish.... oh wait, I KNOW"

XD;;; Probably not but.... yeah, that disturbs me -.-;

Especially with all the pro-life things currently rampant in any society. I can understand if he just wrote it for purely scientific reasons. Scientists always want to learn different things, after all. But he seems to actually be encouraging it, telling even doctors and nurses to aide in the process. I'm really confused about it.

In a world where so many people struggle to live, you write a book on how to die. Ironic, isn't it, considering we die a little bit every day.

But then, that's kinda philosophical now. :þ

Haha! YES! You gotta wonder if he even TRIED it. From what the article

says, it seems very scientific. I'm inclined to think he did it for purely intellectual reasons. "This book has never been written before. Might be I'll try it," kind of thing.

Yeah, my biggest question is if he himself was ever suicidal. Because then, even if it's mostly scientific-- it would be missing a few elements that only someone who has experienced it would know.

I can also understand if he did it for purely scientific reason... but yeah it really doesn't seem like that's why he did it. He seems to think he's helping a lot of people...

Yeah. I mean, don't people usually write what they know? Then again, this isn't really WRITING-writing. More like a research paper. It did seem to give off the whole "scientific feel" to it.

He seems to think he's helping a lot of people...

I wanna know what his inspiration was. Seriously. Now that a little time has passed though, I think it might be possible that he once saw very important people suffer without relief that led him to believe euthanasia/desire for suicide. I mean, if he's observed it but never really EXPERIENCED it, that might be why he thinks he'll help people if he pushed for it, right?

(...or maybe not. >_>)

Oh dear. I can't believe someone actually wrote a book like that. Not that I have any intention of killing myself, but I'm actually morbidly interested in what this book has to say.

It IS mildly interesting, isn't it? On a whole "just-to-know" level. I still can't figure out WHY he wrote it in the first place though, and WHAT was his inspiration for writing it.

My mind can't compute. :þ
