Home at last. My grades came and they were all O's. I'm rather surprised, really, as I was very upset when I was taking my make-up exams. My parents were rather pleased.

The holidays look to be dull, as I am not wanted am not going anywhere. I suppose I should have expected something of this sort. Things always go well when one is distracted by

Congratulations on your exams, Hermione. I suppose the past few weeks were a trying time for all of us, especially you, Ron, and Harry, of course. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for the way I behaved that last week of term. Since we're (probably) going in to different fields after next year (have you decided yet?), it won't matter one bit if Head Girl is one of us or if it's someone wretched, like Pansy. Anyway, we've both done a bang-on job at Hogwarts, and next year is most definitely when we (mostly me) should put the competition behind us, eh? We could even study together for the NEWTs, if you want. I promise I won't purposely give you the wrong answers, like that time in second year Transfiguration...

fine if that's how you feel about it maybe we shouldn't be seeing each other. i mean, if you're not going to take a second to understand how much this is going to bother me, to let my mother run around picking out the colors for our wedding flowers, then maybe we shouldn't be seeing each other.

I suppose I should accuse you of overreacting but seeing as you just jumped at the chance to get rid of me I can only imagine you've been planning this from the beginning and if you think I'm satisfied being your school-time girlfriend and let you run off over the summer with some trollop I'm afraid you are quite mistaken try and treat Harry well if you can manage to tear yourself away from whoever she is
