Happy early birthday, Waddis

It's going to be kind of a busy weekend for me, and I figured I would post this before I forgot. So, uh, happy birthday. You like canon far more than any reasonable person should, so I set this within what Wikipedia could tell me of Season 8 continuity.

(By the way, I'm assuming that everyone on my friends list already knows who Waddis is. If you don't ( Read more... )

Nice try for canon, but you're way off.

See, Willow and Xander don't talk to each other anymore.

I loved it, and I appreciate it. I could list the dialogue chunks that I like, but there aren't any dialogue chunks that I don't like.

In particular, I like Willow's transitioning, without punctuation, from bubbling to pleading, and her explanation of why she thinks he shouldn't go along with the proposal.

I definitely dig your take on Willow/Xander in any event, but this one's up there with the authenticity. More than any other characters, these two tend to be selfish with one another.

Excellent. And thanks again.

Seriously? They don't talk at all? Have they had some kind of fight or something?

Nope, no fight. It's just that Willow and Xander talking to one another would, apparently, have absolutely nothing at all to do with Buffy, so they just don't show it. I don't think that there's a whole... distance thing going on, 'cause there are little bits here and there that make them seem a lot more like they're just childish around one another in a world that's gotten really serious.

But seriously. Absolutely no scenes between just the two of them in the twenty parts I've read (up to the Time of Your Life arc).

It really bothers me.

Heh. Maybe this could still have happened behind the scenes then, like your thing about Xander buying Willow a phone.

Came across to see what you'd written waddis and am very glad I did. That was just lovely. I especially loved that Xander understood Willow's twisted logic, was able to articulate it and accepted it.

So many great lines that I could c/p the whole thing, but I especially loved "that wasn't a you're welcome sort of situation, was it?” Hee, I can just hear that in my head.

Great stuff, hon.
