Oh man, you've never worked with pyridine before? That shit's nasty. It doesn't bother me too much, but one of my major reactions in undergrad used that as a solvent and I'd have to warn the whole lab when I was gonna have it out. One of my coworkers pretty much needed to be out of the room. It's pretty gross! Sorry you had to experience it all out of the blue like that. :(

Nope! :/ I think I might've heard about how awful it is at some point, but I ... forgot, obviously, ugh. And oh man I am so jealous that it doesn't bother you too much. (I mean, I'm assuming you still find it disgusting, but also tolerable at the same time? Like toluene or carbon tet or something.) ♥

Yeah it doesn't make me want to hurl or anything, thankfully, since one of the three reactions I did for TWO YEARS used it as a solvent. So, you know, we woulda been fucked if I couldn't deal with it. The thing that is most unpleasant to me is any thiol, obviously, like dithiothreitol, which I've encountered only in biochem labs. Still doesn't give me a violent reaction though.
