This is a really good article. I agree with alot of what she says. It really annoys me that some people think that Jason and I don't have a "real" relationship because we don't have kids. Or that we are expected to pick up the slack at work because we don't have a soccer game to go to or something.

That is my #1 problem with people asking me about kids. I'm not 100% sure I'll never have kids, but I resent the assumption that I'm only worth something as a person, or that my marriage is only real, if I have a kid. I want to be seen as an adult and a successful, worthwhile person on my own merits--not based on whether or not I've gotten some use out of my uterus. The idea that all women must have kids in order to be real adults or that all marriages must include children is rather demeaning to women and rather crude in a modern soceity. I already have issues with the preception/message that women are only good for sex, and the idea that all women must have children just adds to that issue.

Sorry, this rant is part of the stuff I'm thinking over for the upcoming post on having kids.
