Summary: After a long day of making sure Scarlet and Reeve don't kill each other, Rude manages some time off to go relax and hang out with Tifa.
Rude had been walking a while by the time he got to the Seventh Heaven. After a day spent around Scarlet, and worse when it was Scarlet and Reeve at once, he was in need of a little bit of relaxation. Originally, he had been planning on making his way to the bar as soon as he was off duty, but a large part of that was for the sake of seeing Tifa again, and he decided it wouldn't do to show up in a bad mood.
It wasn't that he hadn't dealt with worse situations. Quite the opposite, in fact; hanging around while executives chat was pretty mild by anybody's standards compared to most of his other missions. But somehow being in the middle of a gunfight was almost a more comfortable situation than watching a couple of the higher-ups glare daggers at each other. If he had hair, he very well might have been tempted to pull it out, and they had only just arrived. He would adjust to it soon enough, but for now he found the atmosphere in that group particularly annoying.
Thankfully, Scarlet had apparently needed a sample of soil from the sector 5 church, and had sent him off to get that with the instructions that he could take the rest of the day off. He felt a little bad about leaving Elena to deal with whatever went on at the WRO, but he was happy enough to escape for a while and far be it for him to disobey an order like that. With a small box of dirt in a pocket of his jacket, he was free for the evening.
The walk over to the Seventh Heaven actually did wonders for his mood. It felt good to be in the city again after spending so much time in what was effectively a makeshift headquarters in Gongaga. He suspected that location wore on everyone a little bit. Despite everything that had happened, all of them were still accustomed to Midgar, back in the days when they had a headquarters that was seventy floors tall. He didn't necessarily miss those days, but he wouldn't deny that it was the city that felt like home, even if it wasn't really the same city.
A little lost in thought, he almost walked straight past the Seventh Heaven when he came to it, but he caught himself in front of the door. With a tiny hint of a smile gracing his lips, he stepped inside and looked around to see if Tifa was there.
