There was no response in the room when Elena first stepped in. Everything appeared normal, and nothing within gave any indication that something was actually quietly lurking. It remained impassive and unmoving on the desk as Elena approached, but the moment the blonde came into view, its internal sensors activated as it scanned the Turk.

...searching...

...searching...

...no matching data...

It only took a single moment to go through the data stored within, but it ultimately found nothing.

...initializing defensive protocol...

The spiked base suddenly whirled to life and begun spinning rapidly as the miniature slasher shifted out of sleep-mode. The small cylinders on its back blazed as a jet of air pushed the small defensive robot up to hover. The papers on the desk scattered as the miniature engines continued to hum softly. Using its arms to balance itself, there was no hesitation in the prototype's movements as it launched itself directly towards Elena.

This was almost too easy. From what she'd read in files - back when they had all their files - Scarlett was highly protective of her blueprints and anything closely related to any projects she was working on. So to see the blueprints, laying out and about with no protection was a little suspicious. But, excited that this mission was ending up simpler than first expected, she didn't stop to notice the Mini-Slasher hiding in plain sight. It was only until she saw the blueprints flutter to life before falling to the floor as the small mechanical robot sprung to life.

"Shit!" she hissed between clenched teeth as the Mini-Slahser lunged at her. Of course, once the initial shock that she was being attacked wore off, she had to fight back the urge to laugh. Her attacker, being barely 7 inches tall, was hardly an unbeatable opponent. In fact, it looked more like a toy than anything else. Grabbing hold of the little creature, she peered at it with amusement. "You don't look so tough..."

...initial attack failed...

....initializing phase two....

...

.....

The small bulbous base continued to spin around as the Slasher remained trapped in Elena's hold. It didn't remain helpless for long; however, as in the next moment the spikes propelled out in every direction. Swinging its arms around, the tips of its robotic fingers flipped open as it began shooting at the intruder.

Holding the little machine up near her face, Elena quirked a grin. The little slasher was much more diminutive than its predecessors. Wouldn't Scarlett know that it would pose no real threat to any intruder? Of course, the damn thing would let her know that somebody had been intruding in her private space - there was no way to put every little thing back the way it was and there was a good chance the mini-slasher would continue rounds until its master returned. But even that thought didn't take away the cuteness of it.

"You know, you're kind of..."

She stopped mid-sentence, curious as the tiny machine whirred into secondary action and the pain receptors in her hands flared as defensive spikes dug into the meat of her palm. Emitting a gasp of surprise, she released the mini-slasher and eyed the now-bleeding hand. Thick, crimson blood oozed up through the alarmingly deep gashes that stretched from the center of her palm to the base of her ring finger and was already dripping on the aging wood floors. Aaaaoooooowww!! "Why you little! H ( ... )
