I admire him so much, for dealing with the lycanthropy all his life. I picture him really reserved, afraid to get close to someone until the Marauders opened him up. He's good at his studies because Dumbledor didn't have to let a werewolf come to school. I jsut love him to bits. Rowling in the last book had Harry call him a coward. (Grr.) I know he was just trying to get a rise out of him, but seriously; Remus has a silent courage, dealing with his infliction his whole life, so there.
I once read a fan fic where Harry told Remus, "You're not my father, and you're not my god-father, so just leave me the hell alone!" And yet Remus still bought him presents, pretending it was from Sirius after he died. I love him so much, and I wish Harry would have realized how amazing Remus was.
OMG, that scene in the Deathly Hallows made me cry...I get what Harry was trying to do, but omgs. Remus is one of the bravest characters in the series, and he always puts himself before others. Seeing Harry at like that to him was really infuriating.
One of my favorite Remus scenes is when they're at St. Mungo's on Christmas and he goes over to talk to the man who was bit by a werewolf. There's no question on this challenge for which character I admire most, but if there was, I'm pretty sure I'd pick Remus.
See, this is why Remus and Sirius should have raised Harry TOGETHER. ;) They balance each other perfectly in that respect. I couldn't help my fangirling when they give him a joint Christmas present in OoTP. Two dads! :D
Wha-? People don't agree about that? My roommates and I were talking about how appalling that scene is just the other day. I can see Harry's point, but he was completely insensitive about it.
Fuck yes they did. I can't remember what it was exactly, maybe a book about Defense Against the Dark Arts? All that matters is that it was from both of them. ;)
