I just had an amusing conversation with one of my teachers. We got into a discussion about sci fi and reading habits and I mentioned that most of what I read is published online. On just that information he asked me if it was slash I was reading. The look on his face when I admitted that, yes, it was slash, was pretty hilarious. He got all wide

He's of an age that he's probably been aware of slash since it's popularization in the 60s, when people still needed secret handshakes and the link to get at it, so he was probably surprised that it's so much more out in the open now :P
