Writing, and the State of Me

Feb 25, 2011 10:27

Every day, I think I should sit down and jot down a quick post of what is going on in my life. I have been very bad about doing that, and not because I am too busy--it is just a pain to get that which is in my head down onto the printed page. So, I decided to take a chapter from madwriter and make up a posting format where I can easily plug in what is ( Read more... )

especially with giving no warnings

I'm sure that in the UK you would have a case for unfair dismissal because of them not following a proper procedure. Anyway, I hope you get what you're entitled to and I'll keep my fingers crossed that your contact in the law firm comes up with another post for you. At least you're almost there if you're only being pipped to the post by candidates that the employer already knows.

If I manage to win the unemployment, I will have to think long and hard about whether to go after unlawful termination. Or whatever it is called. I am not a litigious person by any means. I want to work for lawyers, but not hire one. I just want what I deserve.

Yeah... dang it! I would really like to work for that place--loved freelancing year 16 years ago (lol).

Sometimes the hassle and emotional strain of taking someone to court totally outweighs any financial gain.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that something good comes your way soon.

Thank you!

Oh man, was at one of the closing Borders last night and several of your books were there. What does the closing of Borders mean to those authors whose books were in those stores? I was sad. The Borders nearest me is not closing but that one is next to where we meet on Thursdays for writing group. We always went over after and spent money. Sigh...

I don't know, but I hear they aren't paying the publishers for whatever royalties they owe, so it's all up in the air! I'm glad they had some of my books, tho, thanks!

Good luck with it all! I have everything crossed (some things metaphorically - typing is hard with my fingers crossed, and even harder with my eyes crossed)

Okay I already cheered about the conclusion of the unemployment saga. But just had to give you inspiration for the weight loss -- my sister-in-law has lost 14 pounds this year. WE CAN DO IT!!!
