Reading this I get the impression that your Vince wants E just as much as vice versa, but doesn't think he can change himself enough to not mess it up. And that kills me just as hard as rejected!E. This fic hurts like a punch in the gut, and I LOVE IT.

i'm glad you saw that! because, yeah, there is that bit of wistfulness from vince, but e just doesn't see it. which is kind of interesting in itself. anyway... THANK YOU!

Aw, I love the contrast here, with Vince being the one bruised and remembering, but Eric being the one who gets the angst. And of course, Eric angsts about causing the bruises too, so he ends up with it all. *sighs* Poor E.

This line too: At that, Eric's heart freezes in his throat. Either he's in bed with Vince or some guy who looks like Vince, but either way, that cannot be good.. Because I can see him (a slightly more battered him maybe) taking home a Vince lookalike and bad things happening after.

And the last line, which makes my heart ache for Eric. Sometimes you need to actually consider all the reasons a relationship between the two of them would probably be a trainwreck...
