Smallville Season 8 Finale: 8x22 Doomsday Review

Well, that was not only the worst finale ever, but one of the worst episodes ever. They're exhausted and apparently have no goddamn energy or desire to pull anything good out of any part of their body. Seriously, they couldn't look on the net and find some talented fans to help them out? Jesus, usually they just piss off the Cloisers

I kind of watched it in fastforward (and I always do that before watching the good way ;D) and I got what was important so AMEN TO EVERYTHING YOU SAID!

I don't like Clark being an ass to Lois and I find this triangle for two a little bit boring. It's not supposed to be like that! Clark's supposed to be pining and Lois ignoring him, not the other way around! I want LnC!Clark to come over here and get SV!Clark's ass kicked, like RIGHT NOW.

Does she NEVER die???

Chloe is worse than kryptonite ;P And what the hell Jimmy is not Jimmy? Way to go, writers, producers, etc...

Okay, so Lois is our heroine, our canon heroine, and they leave her out of 80% of the show?

*cries* It's one of the worst crime ever that they use Chloe all the time (or Blahna when she's here) and don't use Lois. Look it up in the dictionary, writers! Under awesomeness, there's a picture of Lois Lane.

Thanks for friending me!! I've read your kick-ass review and I have to agree with everything you said, especially the 'Chimmy,' the 'where's Lois', the 'RBB!Lois talk,' and 'Oliver's dilemma.'

Can I say how much I hated Clark treating Lois that way? WTF was that? It made me so angry at the time. He pushed her away because he thought he was going to die. What a stupid thing to do Clark, not one of your brighter moments. I do think it's interesting where they're taking him though with his denial of his 'human' side.

I don't know what will happen come September, but Lois had better get more episodes next year or else! *kicks the CW*

Hi...Babettew54, what's your name? I honestly friended you because of your response to RL fic. I'm so tired of people having a fit about it. Tomerica fic, Hugh/Anna fic, whoever it is, calm down, doesn't matter. So, anyone who doesn't have a cow, and we have ships in common, GOOD THING. Ra ra ra! Glad you liked my rant. *smiles*

Yeah, I had a zillion problems with the finale. Like I said, usually they just screw over the Cloisers in some way, this time, they just flat out blew it and it was a bad episode. Still, usually in the FINALE they give us some incredible Clois moment.

In Artic, omg, we got the beauty of Clark exiting his relationship with Lana and walking INTO his relationship with Lois by the symbolism of her being there and them going into each other's arms and holding each other. THAT was more satisfying than this. Geez. *sigh* Anyway.

And if they don't bring Lois back for several episodes at the beginning of next season, instead focusing on Chloe/Clark pregnancy crap, I'm going to bitch and moan while

I enjoy RL fic!! It's pure fantasy, just the same as 'other' fic are! What's the big deal!? *sheesh*

I know, Arctic Clois was so spot on! But in between that, we got the Lana arc, and now this. It's all kinds of wrong. Yeah, the Cloisers were screwed over this time, but in the finale.. never expected that.

Please don't let Chloe be pregnant. Did Jimmy and she ever... after they were married?? I guess not. Just all kinds of wrong if it's Davis'!! *sucks*

I still pre-ordered the S8 DVD, about 2-3 weeks ago, after Stiletto, I think!! I have every season, so I had no choice in the matter! *lol* I still love the first half of the season, though. It was awesome!:D

Babette, hi! I know, RL fic is so kookie and fun! I love it! I gotta write me some! It's really hard to write though (not that I've done much of it) because with character fic, you've seen all of them, so you know who they are, RL, you don't know them, so you have to guess, it's HARD!

But yeah, people seriously need to remove stick from butt. Excuse mental image.

I LOVE Artic Clois. OMG, one of my favorite moments! I liked that moment more than Apocalypse!!! Almost!

I know! No pregnant Chloe, no no no. And does she have to be pregnant by Doomsday? Do we need to know HOW she kept him calm? That's disgusting!

I'll get around to ordering Season 8, believe me, but right now, I'm thoroughly pissed!

All I can say is if SV wanted to elicit a passionate response from their fans then they succeeded. I have never seen such a reaction on the SV boards...well never. For a season that started so well and with so much promise they really took a chance going in the direction they did with Doomsday. I'm going to post my review/thought/rant soon but in a nutshell I didn't hate it, but liked that they were taking everything that Clark held dear...his friends, loyality, humanity etc and tipping it 180 degrees. I like that fact that Clark has lost hope but in order to become the hero that represents hope he first has to find his...and his connection to humanity which is Lois. In the comics Doomsday killed Superman but here on SV it was all about the death of Clark Kent...aka his belief in his own humanity

Thanks sweetie! I appreciate your support in the universal bitching and moaning about all the disappointments from this episode, and honestly the second half of the season. Just ridiculous. :( Let's hope they feel that with the magic of Tom and Erica that they finally have, they'll get their creative juices flowing again and DO something fun with them that they haven't done yet.

Agreed...the first half I was happy with until "you know who" showed up. I wonder how things would have played out if they didn't have to do that story arc. Also if season 8 was going to be their last and how they were concentrating so much on Chloe/Davis/Doomy I swear us CLOISers would have been even more upset then. *shrugs*

It would've been so different if they'd continued to progress the Clois relationship instead of have Clark backtrack into his relationship with Lana. And they totally destroyed Chloe, in every direction. I was starting to actually like her with Hex, and in Bride, but her going with Doomsday, grrrrrrrrr!
