Since returning to the castle, Katherine hasn't exactly found herself in the usual spirits. It's an effort to turn off all of the emotions that she'd worked so hard on keeping close to her heart when she was human and now she feels like the chore is almost too much to bother with.
It's just that it's necessary.
Especially here.
She finds herself this evening in the gardens, wandering through the rows of flowers that are buried beneath the snow, and wondering just how much alcohol it would take for her to really get drunk. She spots Lilah up ahead a bit and smiles to herself.
Perhaps she doesn't need to know how much it'd take to get her drunk, but how much Lilah has already been drinking.
"It is getting rather late." Which was Lilah's way of saying yes, they could do that. She's usually a little more careful about leading people back to her room, at letting people know where she stays, but right now, she's not on guard as much as she usually us.
"Then allow me to at the very least make sure you get tucked into bed, safely." It was slightly ironic, but Katherine did have a fondness for Lilah. She honestly admired the woman and saw a bit of herself in the other woman.
"I can allow that." Lilah liked Katherine. Which was saying something. She didn't like most people, outside of those who you might be useful to her. But Katherine reminded her a little of herself.
"I think I can manage that." She removed her name plate after the castle moved around the rooms. Mostly because she doesn't want people knowing where she lives unless she trusts them.
Katherine led, ensuring that she didn't go too fast, mostly just enjoying the walk with Lilah and the company she provided. They arrived at the castle and into the lobby.
The stairs were fine, Katherine was stronger than she appeared and any weaving that Lilah did from her drinking was easy enough to manage. Making sure to slow at the landings, just in case this was Lilah's floor.
Giving her hand a squeeze, Katherine teased, "You do live in this tower, don't you?"
"Yes." Lilah digged into a pocket on the inside of her jacket, and it took her a little longer than it usually would to finally find the key. And longer still to manage to unlock the door. She turned to the other woman. "Do you want to come in?"
She smiled at her for a moment, shrugging a shoulder casually, "I think the important question is rather, do you want me to come in." Since she needed a more direct invitation than just a question of interest.
It's just that it's necessary.

"Alright, then I can get you to the castle, and you'll have to give me a tiny bit of direction once we get there."

"Where's the light?" Katherine asked, feeling against the wall for the switch, before she found it and turned it on, casting the room in a soft light.
It seemed ... tasteful and very much like the woman that Katherine had come to know.
"You have a lovely room," she remarked as she helped lead her toward the direction of what seemed to be where Lilah was wandering.
