Something nice?

Fell under a wide range of possibilities and opportunities to chose the wrong thing. Especially with Wesley offering so little in the way of actual information to base her decision off of. As her own curiosity settled into a knot right in the center of her stomach with the familiarity of a long-time friend, Fred navigated various dresses and shirts and Victorian remnants of years past to hopefully settle on something suitable.

Actually, it would have to be. Because she wasn't about to fall into the trap of over-thinking things. She hadn't been given much time as it was.

Either way, there was something satisfying about the way the new snow sounded underneath boots she needed to have acquired during the era Harmony was in charge of her closet. There was something encouraging about the new snow fall that eased some of the lingering stress from the expedition.

Soon enough, Fred presented herself on Wesley's doorstep.

Wes had dressed for the occasion, of course, so when he answered the door, he was decked out in this outfit (although not bundled up for outside quite yet).

He opened the door and smiled, taking in her pretty berry-hued coat and fetching black knee high boots.

"Evening. Please, come in."

He'd decided to serve them a drink first before walking to the restaurant.

Fred kicked the snow off her shoes before crossing the threshold, taking in the sight of Wesley with frank admiration. She'd long since gotten past the habit of not. Not looking like she noticed, not indulging in awareness. Which meant, of course, she had to admit to herself there was a period when she did.

Which was likely that period of 'fine' Spike went head to head with her about.

The heated air of Wesley's townhouse stung her cheeks as she smiled.

"Evening," Fred echoed, following him. "Any chance you're going to tell me what this is about now?"

"I will. But first..."

Wes led her into the kitchen where he had some pre-mixed mulled wine waiting. Turning off the stove, he began to pour it into mugs for them both.

"Have some of this to warm you up."

He eyed her for a moment.

"I love the boots, by the way."
