Allen was heading back to the city, food in his satchel along with other supplies needed in the house (as a nice way to save money, of course). It wasn't until he was near did he even notice the man in the leaf pile.

Yeah, something was telling him it wasn't an eccentric regaining his youth.

He approaches, a bit cautiously. "Sir?"

Opening his eyes, he lifted its head from its previously bowed position. Oh. Great. This one again.

"Circus is that way. They have more curious things to look at."

He inhaled deeply, again bowing his head. He rested his forehead against the top of his cane. His left leg was bent at the knee, his left elbow on top of it. His right was still stretched out. Continuous extension of the leg resulted in the relaxation of the anterior thigh muscles. Their relaxation meant no trembling.

The hairs on the back of his neck went up, if anyone who knew him better probably would receive a dirty look or biting words at that line - someone he didn't like a fist in their face. Instead he reminds himself that it's just an expression. When he answers, his tone he's managed to bring down to neutral.

"I was walking by, not looking for a show. Are you all right?"

He could come up with a sarcastic response to that question. Particularly as it's preceded by 'walking by' something that he can't do with that ease anymore. But he's grown past resenting others for walking even if he still resents his leg. He just exhales.

"My leg hurts." He tilts his head a bit as he looks up. "I'm guessing there is no bus around here."
