Sakura waited in the silence of knowing the actions they were about to take were necessary. For Ino, in a way that will never bring peace. For Paradisa, in a way this place refused to know peace.

Out here, once he'd crossed that threshold, he was as vulnerable as any of the rest of them. Only they were prepared... and he wasn't.

We have to make sure he gets across the border. If it hasn't moved on us.

Ino, meanwhile, was praying that she would never again have to take the form of the disgusting monster known as Kakuzu. It was easy, imitating him - never, in a million years, would she forget what he and Hidan looked like, sounded like. She was praying that Hidan would step over the line, they could ambush him, and that would be the end of things. There was no way his powers of immortality - however they were caused - could still work out in the Dead Zone.

... At least, she hoped they couldn't.

She laid in wait for now, though, a knife gripped tightly in her hand as she watched closely. Her ability to sense him coming was diminished, being next to the Dead Zone, but she was quite sure that he would be hard to miss.

Hinata rounded out the trio, unwilling and unwanting to say anything to break the silence around them. Partly because nothing more needed to be said, partly because she didn't want to give away that they weren't Kakuzu.

She didn't have her Byakugan activated as from previous trips out around here, it would do next to no good and drain her chakra. Something they really didn't need if this went horribly wrong. And that was really a way she shouldn't be thinking.

But...it was hard not to for her.

She reached down to recheck that she had her kunai holster strapped properly in an attempt to redirect some of that nervous energy.

It didn't take Hidan all that long to get to the rendezvous point "Kakuzu" had set up. The slowest of the Akatsuki, he was still a pretty competent ninja (thought it helped to have such a tough-to-beat cheat kill ability).

He was wary himself, by habit and by nature as a hunted missing-nin. And, what was maybe worse for the girls, he slowed up and began scanning warily as he felt... something, approaching the dead zone. Kakuzu wasn't in sight and he would've expected his partner to do that much.

"Hey, old fucker! You around here or not?!"

Sakura looked toward Ino, shifting and quietly moving into proper position. There wasn't a lot of coverage out here, but she was using what she had. Now it was a matter of waiting for Ino's cue...
