Big surprise, York was dreading this. Still, he couldn't avoid his girlfriend forever, and it wasn't really his fault he'd spent a lot of time away from his room lately. He'd been on the move a lot, and out in the Danger Room running simulations whenever possible.

Still, he wasn't surprised to see she was back, and he closed the door behind him as he entered.

"...Hey."

Not the most brilliant of openings, but it was more than he'd said to her all month.

Tex didn't look up from her journal. She was in the middle of a very detailed drawing of the Meta having a close encounter with a needler. In several sensitive spots. This was the sort of thing that demanded close, loving attention. But she did respond.

"Hey."

And that was it. She left the silence hanging there, waiting for York to hang himself with his own rope.

...well, hang himself further.

He padded over to her a little hesitantly (for good reason), stopping a little in front of where she was sitting.

Better not beat around the bush too much.

"Look, I fucked up, and I'm sorry. It was a bad decision, and we were both a little out of it."

Tex continued to draw, only looking up briefly. "That's not the only thing you fucked." Extra detail was added to the spikes Tex was drawing in the Meta's head. "Remind me, York. How the hell do settle on 'I know, screwing Wash'll help!' How does that even start sounding like a good idea, even when you're out of it?"
