Who: Sam Winchester and YOU What: The beginning of Sam’s soulless loss. When: 2 AM to the rest of the day Wednesday, September 14. Where: Wandering around the castle. Rating: PG-13, subject to change.
[Even the fact that being humanish enough to need sleep, Gabriel only does it when he overexhausts himself to the point of collapse or just gets bored. In this case, he's coming off a decent set of thirteen hours worth of unconsciousness and is taking advantage of the ice cream while no one's crowding around it like slobbering dogs.
Seeing Sam out and about is really just the cherry on top. He hasn't trolled his favorite punching bag in awhile.]
[For a moment, as Sam walks away, Gabriel is frozen in something akin to shock, his spoon dangling out of his mouth. What... The fuck... Was that? No exchange of insults? No bitchfaces? No banter? W-What?
Worldview... Shattering.
Gabriel shakes himself out of it and runs (dammit, he misses flying) to catch up with the behemoth.]
You? The dysfunctional, batshit insane glorified puppy rescuer? Don't care? Be still my beating heart.
Sleep had been difficult lately. No matter how hard she tried to clear it, there was always too much on her mind. Or, rather, too much of one specific thing. Despite having some time to process, it stil threatened to drive her crazy, and inevitably sprang to the forefront of her thoughts every time she closed her eyes.
Tonight was no exception. In fact, it might have been bothering her more than usual. All she knew was that she couldn't stay in that room, or else she just might very well go insane. So that's how she'd also ended up in the hallway at this ungodly hour, vaguely looking for somewhere else to be. For some kind of distraction.]
[Sam's been wandering for a while, and when he comes on her ... well, that's something to do. The look on his face shifts from one of indifference to interest, but he's not going to stop, just keep watching as they get closer]
[When Julia hears the sound of footsteps, it startles her just a little. Not visibly, really, but a little all the same. She hadn't been expecting anyone else to be up at this time of night, after all. (Why would they? It's two in the morning.)
As the stranger steps closer, she turns and nods her head in acknowledgment before addressing him with some small talk. Who knows, maybe misery needs company.]
[Will was having his own difficulty sleeping tonight. As many people as there were in this castle, it always felt too quiet and lonely to him. He was alone , here, as he had never been at home. Sometimes, on nights like this, he simply couldn't sleep in the silence.
And so he had gotten dressed and headed for the library, not expecting to run into anyone else.]
[Sam was on his way to the library himself, and doesn't even really notice Will coming. He's not noticing a lot of things, but that's not really the point. The point is that they're both in the library.]
[The cooling end of summer was rather beautiful thing, and Kaylee's spirits are high...much higher since Mal had shown up in the castle.
Bolstered by both these things, she's decided to take her latest project outside, fiddling with the spring mechanism of a small device as she sits on the castle steps]
[the dogs don't like him as much as they used to. They're shying away, whining -- Sam, as a hunter, knows that something's screwy there, but he can't seem to put his finger on what.
Regardless, the dogs will bound out ahead of him, and go sniff around, and ... Sam is automatically distracted by pretty girl on front steps. Kaylee is a friend. Friends are good -- friends he should talk to.]
[Faith wasn't big on the castle, but she was wondering what was left of her room after all that insanity of the other week. Mild curiosity turned into a burning urge to know what was going on. She just couldn't leave well enough alone so she'd dropped by.
The place was empty, though. Nothing in there but the bed in the corner and a dresser. Faith snagged a jacket though, then headed out. She hadn't expected to bump into Sam. In fact, given the last time she bumped into him in the castle hadn't gone so well.

[he gets a bright smile as she looks up, nodding to the dogs.] You out for a walk?

Yeah. Apparently they need to get out every once in a while.

[Seriously... what is she supposed to do here. She doesn't have a drink in her hand, so she'll just move past him and try to cut her own path here.]
