[Spike has the world's weirdest sleep schedule. That's what happens when you're a creature of the night with mostly creature of the day friends in a world where the sun can't hurt you. Which means noon is breakfast time. He's down in the kitchen, making coffee and mixing wheetabix into a bowl of blood.]
Asuka doesn't spend too much time in the castle, considering that she lives in a mansion on the outskirts of the city. Sometimes, though, there was the urge to go to it--she's never sure if it's the castle's doing or simply because after nearly four years, she's used to it. Nevertheless, she's decided to mooch from the kitchen today, rubbing her eyes as she enters.
Not only vampires keep weird schedules.
She eyes the blonde on her way to the fridge, opening it and looking at its contents. She hasn't noticed her kitchen mate's replacement for milk... yet.
Spike glances back at her and gives her a nod, then keeps stirring the cereal into the blood. Once he's satisfied with the spread, he takes the bowl and his cup of coffee over to the counter and hoists himself onto it. He sits on it and starts eating spoonfuls of blood and cereal. He watches the new girl idly, mostly because he's got nothing better to do.
Asuka's busy pretending to not notice that he's watching her, hoping that maybe he'd find something better to do. After a few moments of her tapping her foot at the fridge, she's had enough and turns towards the other pair of eyes.
"It's rude to--"
That wasn't milk. That was red. Asuka's face loses color as she takes a step back.
Early afternoon--librarybreakmychestJuly 13 2011, 02:40:18 UTC
[Spike doesn't go to the library often, but he's been hankering after something to read lately. And the poetry section in Paradisa's library has things he's never heard of. He can't help but check it out.]

[Wes hasn't been in the library as much as he'd like to be, so he's there today, catching up on some reading when he spies Spike in the stacks. Curious, he moves closer and sees which section the vampire is perusing. Poetry? Wes raises an eyebrow at that, but ventures over anyway.]
[Spike looks over at him and pretends he isn't a little embarrassed to be caught looking at poetry. Being okay with that side of himself is new to him.]
Late afternoon--roofbreakmychestJuly 13 2011, 02:41:30 UTC
[Spike has a book, and now he wants to read it. He also feels like enjoying the sun since he... can. Which means he's sprawled out on the roof without a shirt reading his book. It's fun.]
[Del... doesn't really know how she gets much of anywhere, these days. Blank as a doll will do that to you.
But she does know she ends up places. And she has figured out that she only seems to walk to them about half the time. And why are there butterflies following her everywhere. And what's that, that man is holding? Does it do things? Like the dominoes?
[When he notices someone approaching, Spike's first instinct is to hide the poetry. But he doesn't. It's taken nearly a century, but these days he accepts who he used to be and, in theory at least, doesn't care if people know he enjoys poetry. He holds the book closer, almost defensively.]
[Her voice is bland, like she's missing something, but she's still a riot of rainbow hair and way too much fishnet. In a baggy shirt and over-sized boots, she's practically a homeless waif with too many piercings.]
[Spike is doing well. And all right, it may be his third ball but that's after two long streaks with the first two. He thinks he might get high score this time.]

I've been enjoying a Rupert Brooke anthology, but just recently discovered Pablo Neruda. Have you heard of him?

She'll walk quietly closer, oh-so-very curious]

I haven't done anything special, so it must be the beer. I'm going to have to ask Lorne what he's serving up lately.
