There's a soft clink as he reaches to set his beer down on the nearby side table, the bottle bumping the wooden surface, but his eyes are for her only. The past few days have been sheer madness and, try as he might, he can't really figure out how they got mired in the middle of it, but that all fades when Brennan slides into his lap.

He smiles at her as his hand goes to rest on the small of her back. "Well, they think I'm a murderer."

"So you're a murder and I'm unfaithful," she murmured before pressing a light kiss against his jaw. For all the insanity that had been happening at their club, the tension she felt just seemed to disappear once in his lap.

Her eyes lit up as she pulled back enough to smile at him. "We're a very exciting couple."

He smiles back at her, his free hand raising to cup her cheek. The tips of his long fingers find her hair...but he sighs, sitting back as he lets his hand drop.

"Except, I'm not sure whether to be upset that all our employees think we're involved in this... or grateful that they're helping us get away with it."

"They love us, Seeley. Especially you." The words are meant to be encouraging, even as she looks as uncertain as he feels. "While I do not think I can condone what they are doing, I can understand the reasoning behind their actions."
