There were various reasons a troll would troll. Some of them are very good reasons: because it's in their nature, because it seemed like a good idea at the time, the list goes on and on, really. Sometimes, a troll had to troll just because they were bored. Terezi trolled for all these reasons and more, but now was not the time for mindless games! Right now, Terezi was doing what any blind girl should do for the first few weeks she's trapped somewhere new: get to know the territory.

As she travels down this hallway, smelling out all the unfamiliar scents among the minty freshness that is the castle's magic, there's something else playing at the back of her sniffnodes that Terezi's sure she's smelled before. Just as so many other things do, people have their own unique scent signatures, and this was starting to get very familiar. Not only was it the scent of a delicious troll candy known as a sweet mustard drop, but it was also... wickedPausing in her path, Terezi cackled softly to herself and pulled her cane up parallel to her ( ... )

A witch had that much in common with Terezi. A witch would do anything to prevent boredom--however, this was for a reason. Being bored made them remember. Being bored made them reexperience what Hell they went through as a human. And without her husband here, Beato was more likely to remember what she wished to forget--the lonliness of waiting year after year for a man to come back to rescue her on a white horse. However, it was also in a Witch's nature to play pranks on others. In the past, Beatrice played pranks in order to make more and more people believe that the witch that haunted Rokkenjima did indeed exist ( ... )

Now that was definitely a surprise to Terezi's nostrils. She hadn't been expecting that tiny drop of golden yellow to multiply and condense into something far more elegant in smell. As such, a flicker of interest crosses her features as she turns to face the witch. Such magic Terezi had never seen before, but she was by no means put off by the sudden appearance of this witch.

"Something else, hmmm?" was Terezi's own reply, her giggle heard underneath her words. An eyebrow arched and she leaned forward on her cane; her smirk was wide and displayed her rows of sharp teeth. "Does this mean I get to hear testimony from the wicked one themself? If that's the case," she continued without waiting, reaching into her pocket for a piece of chalk, "I believe I will have to call upon His Honorable Tyranny to oversee the trial."

No, she had no intention of stealing anything from her again. Pranking her, or tricking her, however was another story altogether.

.. Just what was this creature, exactly? She was nothing that Beatrice had ever seen, despite being a witch who controlled many different kinds of demons. "A trial? How nice, how nice. You ask for much from someone who merely wanted to speak with you."

Well, there was more to it than that.
